Ruth's Granola

 

In a large bowl mix:                               3 lbs (12 cups) oats

1 cup sunflower seeds                           ½ - 1 cup sesame seeds

1 cup wheat germ                                 1 cup pumpkin seeds(optional)

½ cup oat bran                                     ½ cup chopped cashews

 

 

In sauce pan heat:                                 1 cup water

1 tbsp salt                                             ½ cup or less oil

3 tbsp vanilla                                        1 cup brown sugar

1 cup or more honey

 

Pour liquid over dry ingredients and mix well. Put in shallow

baking pans. Bake at 250° for 1 hour or until light brown.

Add raisins and dried fruit to taste. Store tightly covered.

 

Note: this freezes well
